Site

Start with the plot, not the plan.

What can be built is decided before anything is drawn — by how big the plot is, how wide the road in front of it is, what the authority allows, and which way the sun comes over it. Tag the boundary and all of that is measured off the same drawing as everything else.

The plot and its setbacks

The boundary is a role like any other, so the land is measured rather than typed. How far the building stands from each edge is measured off the plan — including the closest it comes anywhere, which is what catches a plot that is not a rectangle.

What the authority allows

Seven schedules to start from — Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, or a generic small-plot case — read by the band your plot falls in, with the ratio taken off the road width where that authority sets it that way.

Where the sun goes

Set the latitude and which way the plan's north points, and the sun is where it will actually be — through the day and through the year. Which quarter each window faces is what the cooling load is built from, so west glass costs what west glass costs.

What the sky gives you

Rainfall for the region against the roof you have drawn: what a year would collect, and the tank or pit to hold it. The wet months are the ones the programme loses, and it knows which they are.

Every limit is a starting point and every one is editable. A by-law is amended and this cannot know it changed — so the figure you type off the current schedule always beats the preset, and nothing here is a sanction.

Measure

Everything you would otherwise count by hand.

Tag which lines are walls — click one, drag a box, or take a whole layer at once — and the rest is measured off the drawing. Every figure below moves the moment a wall does, so there is no second take-off to keep in step with the first.

Decide it before anybody digs.

A quantity on its own is not a decision. These are what the measurement is for — each one falling out of it rather than being guessed at beside it.

What it costs

Every quantity priced at your rates, in your currency, with the working shown on each line so a figure can be argued with rather than believed. Change a rate and the total follows.

A note is pinned to the point it is about — this beam is in the way, this door opens wrong — so the comment arrives attached to the thing rather than to the project.

Every save is kept. Open what the plan was last Tuesday, see who changed it, and put it back if the change was wrong.
